My Summary of Bill Johnson's Book "GOD IS GOOD" - Part G

We are to carry the message of the Kingdom into the nations of the world (Matt.10:7, Acts 18:31). The message of the Kingdom is about Jesus and how He demonstrated with His words and actions what His world is like. So by the manifestation of the Kingdom in the lives of people, they are free from sickness and demonic oppression and other things that negatively affect the entire being of man because these things are not in Heaven.

By the message of the Kingdom, Christ's reality affects (is super imposed on) the reality of our world.

The Kingdom is to be preached and displayed as Jesus perfectly did, for God's goodness to be known.

Our salvation empowers us to see and perceive God's reality.
Like Jesus said in Luke 16:16 we ought to keep declaring the realities of the Kingdom so that people can keeping pressing into it. When Jesus said it is Finished, He was saying the demands of the Law and Prophets had been satisfied and it was now a new day.

Repentance; which is about changing the way we think is really more than a mental exercise. It is a deep sorrow for sin that makes a person truly turn and change their mind and perspective of reality. Full repentance is from something towards something; from sin towards God. Repentance is not just about forgiveness, but about seeing the Kingdom. We turn to God and His Kingdom for Him and His Kingdom are one. God wants us to shift our perspective of reality to His.

Correct study of scripture (Old & New Testaments alike) is to give us encouragement that results in great hope (Rom.15:4); not fear and condemnation.

We can't understand our purpose and calling without understanding what Jesus came to accomplish and fulfill. We must understand the things of the Old Testament that ended at the Cross, the things that were changed by the Cross and the things that came through the Cross unchanged.

One major example of something that ended is the sacrifice of animals.

A major example of something that changed is the Sabbath and the year of Jubilee. Jubilee is no more every 50th year but now every moment after receiving Jesus Christ. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty, 2Cor.3:17. Right now (in Christ) we experience rest and liberty everyday and every year. This is our present reality and it should reflect in our countenance. Jubilee in the Old Testament was a picture of God's goodness that was to come

A major example of something that was not changed is the Tabernacle of David (the continual Worship, thanksgiving and praise unto God). It is now a daily life for all believers and not a periodic obligation for just the Levites.

The Hebrew word for presence is face. Seeing God’s presence is seeking His face. Worship clears the air waves and affects both the reception of God’s Word and the influx of souls into the kingdom.

We need to live under Christ's freedom and not any bondage that comes from misapplying the Laws of the Old Testament.

We shall stop here right now and we shall continue soon.

Thank you for reading. Please feel free to share with others.
